Actor and patient safety advocate Dennis Quaid made remarks at the National Press Club about how in 2007, his newborn twins mistakenly received a nearly fatal dose of the drug Heparin while in the hospital. He's since helped to launch a new national network to alert the public and health professionals about serious medical errors, and has founded his own foundation to raise awareness about the issue.
